Being a Canine Care Certified Breeder is just one of the voluntarily involved programs we choose to partner with. Purdue University is proud to offer this program purely as a public service. The Standards of Care were created by Dr. Candace Croney, Ph.D. at Purdue University, in 2013 based on existing and ongoing research along with a Scientific Advisory Committee. Breeders seeking certification must meet or exceed rigorous physical and behavioral welfare standards in nutrition, veterinary care, genetics, housing, handling, socialization, enrichment, and exercise.
For the consumer, the voluntary choice of becoming a Canine Care Certified Breeder indicates that puppies and parents are raised under an independently audited program that ensures that specific health and welfare standards have been met. Canine Care Certified Breeders attend to their puppy’s and parent’s physical, genetic, and behavioral health. They are committed to raising the bar on the standard of care and attention they offer their puppies and parents.

Dachshunds are scent hound dogs bred to hunt badgers and other tunneling animals, rabbits, and foxes. Hunters even used packs of Dachshunds to trail wild boar. Today their versatility makes them excellent family companions, show dogs, and small-game hunters.
However, you may know them by one of their many nicknames, including Wiener Dog, Sausage Dog, Doxie, and more. If you’re looking a little pooch who will keep you on your toes and shower you with love, this may be the breed for you. Opt to adopt if you can!
Dachshunds (pronounced DAKS hund — never dash-hound) come in three varieties: smooth (shorthaired), wirehaired and longhaired. In the United States, Dachshunds are either miniature (11 pounds and under as an adult) or standard (usually between 16 and 32 pounds as an adult). If your Dachshund weighs between 11 and 16 pounds, he’s called a tweenie.
We take pride in our pups. Our adults are AKC registered bloodlines, genetic testing from PawPrint Genetics, our breed of Dachshund's are bred for temperament and health. We believe adding a new puppy to your family should be a rewarding experience and we are here to do all we can to make that possible!
We have raised Dachshund's for most of our lives and want to share our passion of the breed with others.
We have worked hard over the years and were licensed by the USDA in 2018
All our pups are up to date on all vaccinations and all deworming as well.
Once you are ready to add a loyal companion to your family, you can contact us via email, text, or phone call. We will be more than happy to help you find the puppy suited for your family. Once you have decided on a specific puppy, a $200 non refundable deposit will hold the puppy for you until he/she is old enough for travel. You will receive an invoice along with our 3 year genetic health guarantee via email to read over, sign and send back. Prior to your puppy’s travel or pickup he/she will have head 2 toe vet exam to ensure they are healthy.
As much as we love meeting our puppy’s new family, we are happy to say we have had much success with our puppies traveling to their new home by air with our flight nanny or ground transportation! We can also meet you at our closest airport in Evansville, IN or Louisville, KY.
Our purebred puppies are all priced with limited registration, meaning they are not to be bred. They are still able to participate in select AKC events if you choose to do so. We do do offer full registration an additional $500. We reserve the right to not sell the puppy with full registration if we think the puppy is not suitable for breeding. We can give our opinion on whether a puppy may or may not be of breeding quality but we cannot guarantee it.
Once you reserve your puppy, we want you to be able to see your loyal companion grow. We will provide you with new photos every two weeks. The photos of our puppies that are available on our website will be updated frequently as well!
Once your puppy reaches 9 weeks of age, we allow them to join you in your home. The only exception is if your puppy does not weigh two pounds. If this does happen, we will continue caring for your puppy until he/she reaches two pounds or twelve weeks of age.
Heart2Heart Puppies will not at anytime guarantee your puppy will grow to a specific size as an adult stay a specific color or have a particular hair coat. We will give you information to the best of our knowledge, based on the parents!
Heart2Heart Puppies offers a 3 year health guarantee against life threatening congenital disorders that appear within the puppy’s first three years of his/her life. This will not include anything that is disclosed and approved by you prior yo your puppy’s pickup. A vet check must be done and a vet report by two different vets must be provided to Heart2Heart Puppies. All our puppy parents are tested with a miniature Dachshund health panel via PawPrint Genetics prior to their first mating to prevent congenital disorders passing on to their puppies!

We honor a Lifetime Return Policy. Any dog which we place in a home will ALWAYS have a home here, if for some reason they cannot be cared for by their new family. Please know: WE DO NOT want – for any reason – any puppy of ours to ever face being “given up” to a shelter, or worse. We expect anyone purchasing a puppy from us to always know we’ll always have a place, or find a forever home for all our puppies in case of need. Our puppy parents and puppies have a special place in our heart and we want to be assured they are taken care of in a humane manner! We reserve the right to refuse prospective buyers for any reason.
